In the introduction we mentioned funder’s requirements. Most of them require you to write a Data Management Plan. A DMP outlines all key aspects of collecting, storing and managing research data during and after a project. For this they provide you with guidelines, forms, templates and examples. For more information you can check out the websites.

Templates for a Data Management Plans (DMP) may vary from funder to funder, but they have many common elements: ‘Plans typically state what [meta]data will be created and how, and outline the plans for sharing and preservation, noting what is appropriate given the nature of the data and any restrictions that may need to be applied‘ (DCC).
